Focus group Analysis

Our first question was what did you think about about our music video?
At first they said they didn't know what the concept of the music video was and that it took them a while to understand that it was about a girl who doesn't fit in. They also said that the chroma key affect was very well done and they really liked it.

Do you think the music video was suitable for the song?
The boy in the group said that it does match the song as it's quite slow pace and it fits the right tempo. The other members also said that the actions match the lyrics which we tried to do and it obviously went well as they understood and have told us that they can see this happening in our video.

What could be done to Improve the Video?
one member said that it annoyed her that one of the band members jackets kept appearing on and off which was confusing and that she looked into the camera which actors shouldn't do. we said this was because when we was filming there was two good takes which we wanted to se however one was with and one was without the jacket and we decided that we were going to use both.

Sir then helped by encouraging the group and asked the question how would a normal band in a girl group music video be represented?
the group said that they were more average and made them normal girls. We then explained what we wanted to achieve for example we wanted to not sexualise the band as seen in normal girl band music videos. The group then responded that we have achieved this and we made the band seem more normal and relatable to our target audience.

Is there anything you would improve to my Digipac and website?
The group said they liked both the above and said that the colour was matching and they could tell it was for that specific group and song because the colours matched and the band picture on the front of the digi pac and in the banner of the website.

What Have you Learned from your Audience Feedback?

As you can see from above i didn't get many people to fill out my questionnaire however what i have learnt is that 100% of people that have filled it out are male. This tells us that more males would watch this type of video rather watch it than females.

This image shows us that teenagers are more likely to watch our music video. This might be because younger people wont be able to understand the concept behind it or are not interested in this particular genre the same as older people most probably wont like this style of music and they might not want to  watch the video. 

This image tells us that people who listen to all different genres such as rock and RnB also listen to the pop genre which is what our genre is. This is a good thing because it shows that people who wouldn't listen to this particular genre all the time would still watch the music video. This also shows that more people enjoy listening to hip-hop and Dubstep more than pop therefore pop still is not there favourite genre and not there number choice so when they come to music videos they would rather watch 3 minutes of a dubsteb video than a pop video. 

This shows that everyone agrees that my video and website and digi pac all link together in some way. in our focus group they said that the colours match all the through the Digi pac and they knew who the band were because the picture on the cover of the band which separated them from the narrative. 

In this screenshot of our questionnaire it shows that 3 of the four people think of our band as normal which is how we wanted to portray the band not being sexualised and being more pure and more likeable to a younger audience and more relatable. However one person thinks that they look Gothic which is still going against the convention we wanted to break however it's to dark and is something we need to look into in order to find our what they think was Gothic about the band. 

This screenshot sows us that everyone who watched our music video enjoyed it and got some satisfaction from watching it. However it doesn't say what they did enjoy about it so we will have to do some more further research and ask our audience what they like about the music video. 

In this screenshot it shows that everyone would first look at the front cover to see what band it is and to get an idea of what the band could be like. Only two people would then go to the back cover to see what other information it is. Then three people said that they will look at the music on the back to see the tracks and what songs are on the cd and last three people said they will look at the price for cost. 

This question shows that all four people said that they would carry on looking at my website once they see it and the reasons being were...

These comments say that it looks sophisticated and smart and that they can understand the website this is good because the audience need to understand the website and be able to navigate around the site. 

This shows us that three people enjoyed the storyline most and one person enjoyed the effects. I believe they enjoyed the storyline because it goes against most girl bands where they are sexualised. We have made them seem more human and have more control as we can make them look appealing to younger audiences. 

this question all has no comment which shows us that the people who answered the questions didn't have anything for us to improve or they don't want to say what we have to improve.

Lesson - 22/02/12

In Lesson today we made our questionnaires for audience feedback so that we can get feedback for our music videos. We then designed them on survey monkey and put them on the blog.

Cd Case Update - 2/2/2012

in this blog i will show you what i have been doing to my digipack. i firstly edited the background and used the same colour from my website by copying the html code into the slot in gimp and it gave me the exact same colour. i then went on urban fonts to find the same font i used for my title to use for the numbers as it will be consistent with the same type of font.  As you can see i still have some adjustments that i will do next time which will to get all of the numbers and tracks down and to also get the font the same size so it will be consistent throughout

Final Iweb Design - 26/1/12

today i started working on my digipak however i had no colours on my website that i could associate the band with so i then played around with the colours and themes on iweb and made the background look quite smart and look quite proffesional and in the text boxes i gave then a salmon colour that i think stands out amongst the grey and bklack background. As you can see in the background it stands out much more and has a lot more vibrance. i now have a colour that i can use for my digipack so that i can have a more vibrant and colourful cd cover for my band.

Technology Question Evaluation - 25/1/12

in class today i have started to plan out my first evaulation question that i will make into a short video.

i will talk about the research and planning of our media product which i will explain how i came up with ideas before the actual construction of the product. I will also talk about the construction and it will include information about what i used gimp for and final cut for example. I will then go on to talk about how it is evaluated which will show the comments from my video from sites such as youtube and facebook and it will give me an indication if people like or dislike it.

This is just the first step of my evaluation questions each question will use a different form of technology for example i am using video for my first question and the next i will use prezi.

Album Covers Research - 18/1/12

in this blog i will be looking at album covers from bands that are in the same genre of the band we are using in our music video. This first image below is from The Saturdays album. The image has a grey background which looks very sophisticated and the girls are also got all of the color taken out of them so its like a black and white film. The color is in the dresses which i believe is something that you are able to associate with the band so they have there own color which therefore means when the have merchandise that comes out each band member will have there own items using there own specific color so one member would have green and one would have blue.

below is the back cover from one of the bands albums. As you can see they still use the coulors which associate with each band member. It also has the band name and the album name on the side in a simple white text. there is all the songs that are included in the album Capital letters and in a black font which makes it stand out even more. Underneath the song names there is the barcode and all of the copyright information so that people can not burn it themselves and is has the record company name at the bottom. 

In the Image below there is a picture of the girls aloud album cover. It is quite similar to the saturdays cover however the images of the girls are more close up so you can see there facial expression. It has a simple white Title of the band name and then a Black album title all in capitals which puts more emphasis onto the album. The pictures of the girls are a literal image of the title as they are tangled in the rope which could give a message to certain people.  however in the front cover of the saturdays it seems like they are individuals as they all have there own colour associated to them whereas ni this cover they are as one and considered to be together and as one. 

Below is the back cover to the album which has a grey background with the white text which is also in capital letters. However it seems to cover more of the back cover which makes it more stand out and bolder. It also has the barcode and the copyright information.

Banner Picture Finished. 18/1/2012

in Lesson today we first sorted out when we are filming our final part which is next Friday. We have already planned what we are filming so when we get our location it should be straightforward.

I also redone my banner for my web page and added the actual band members we are using. As you can see from the picture below. i had to delete all the background and use a white background so that i could lay my font on top which has changed from its original because when i saw this i preferred it and thought it would work just as well as my first font looked like a clubbing sign this wasn't much similar however i though that it looked more appropriate when comparing the two and it seemed to be the right choice.

Music Video Editing

Today in lesson we started to cut out the scenes for our narrative to go into so once we film we can edit them and stick them straight in the video which makes the process a whole lot easier. We also starting to figure out when we are going to film the narrative however we need to know when armani is free but she is not in lesson today so we will have to talk and have a meeting to discuss when and where we are filming.
